THE ACADEMIC BOARD The College Law also establishes this body, which oversees all academic matters affecting the College. Membership consists of the Provost as the Chairman, the Deputy Provost, the College Librarian, representatives of the State Ministry of Education, State Conference of Principals, Congregation, Dean of Schools, Heads of Departments and all Readers. The Registrar is the Secretary to the Board.
Admission
Requirement for Admission into 3-Years NCE Regular Programmes The joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) now advertises each year inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates for admission into all colleges of Education in the country. The requirements for admission set out by college must however be met. General Entry Requirement for direct Admission into 3 years N.C.E. programme. Any candidate with one of the following qualification is eligible for consideration for direct admission: Teachers’ Grade II Certificate normally with a minimum of three credits or merits. Two of which must be in the subject the candidate wishes to study. The General Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary level or the school Certificate or Senior School Certificate with at least five passes at a sitting three of which must be at WASC credit level. Two of the credit must be in the subject the candidates wishes to study.The general Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary level or the West African School Certificate (WASC) or SSC, with four credits at two sittings two of which must be in the subject the candidates wishes to study. Intermediate City and Guilds Certificates or Federal Crafts Training Certificate with the five passes, two of which must be at credit levels plus at least, a pass in Technical Drawing. General Certificate in Education (G.C.E) ordinary level passes in any five subject three of which must be at the WASC Credit Levels.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or G.C.E. "0" Level with passes in 5 subjects including English Language, three of which must be at credit level at the same sitting or four credits at two sittings. Two of the credits must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to offer. Credits in English and/or mathematics may be required in some courses
The College of Education, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area has been granted an approval by the National Universities Commission, N.U.C., to run undergraduate degree programmes in the college in affiliation with Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka. It was further stated that the host university is to handle the admissions, matriculation and other related matters of the affiliated school in order to ensure proper admission procedures which may also include the admission quota for the university....
To qualify for admission into any of the postgraduate Diploma in Education of the College, a candidate must meet, among others, all matriculation requirements of at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics. Some programmes accept at least a pass in Mathematics. Candidates must possess either a minimum of pass Bachelors degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the school board or a Higher National Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit.

Postponement of 14th convocation ceremony. The NCCE recently approved Early Childhood Care Education (ECCe), Physical and health Education (PHE) and Christian Religious Studies (CRG) as new programmes to be run by the College. The approval of these new programmes necesitated the appointment of new Lecturers and the employment of non- academic staff to cater for these new academic programmes, providing employment opportunities' to our teeming unemployed graduan1s. In a bid to meet the yearning educational needs of Deltans, Part-time NCE/Weekend NCE cources are run in lrri and Kwale outreach centres.
